Feb 2, 2026Honorable Committee Members, I am writing to express my strong support for HB 1792, the CHARLIE Act, which will protect New Hampshire students from political indoctrination in our schools. Key reasons I support this legislation: • Our children deserve an education focused on academics, not political ideology • Parents, not radical activists, should guide their children's moral and social development • Taxpayer-funded schools should not promote divisive political agendas • New Hampshire students need to learn critical thinking skills, not leftist talking points • This bill ensures our schools remain focused on educational excellence The Democrat education establishment has pushed their woke agenda on our kids long enough. It's time to get back to basics and ensure our schools serve students and families, not the radical left's political objectives. I urge you to vote YES on HB 1792 and stand with New Hampshire families against leftist indoctrination in our schools. Respectfully, Elizabeth A Levesque HUDSON, NH

Feb 2, 2026This bill is once again an attempt to censor what teachers can talk about in their classrooms. "Critical race theory" is a law-school graduate level course. No one is teaching critical race theory in schools; it would seem that some of our state legislators want to change the definition of the term to mean that no one can talk about race, which makes no sense. Please let the teachers teach history; we parents don't want the state government spending so much time and effort trying to censor classroom speech. Hearing that gay people exist isn't going to make kids gay. Hearing about black people isn't going to ... turn kids black? I'm not even sure what the fear is there. Please work on funding public education, and let the teachers teach.

Feb 2, 2026Good afternoon Chair and members of the committee. My name is Aaria Ahdi, and I am a high school student. I am here to respectfully oppose HB 1792-FN. As a student currently in the public school system, I can tell you that learning about history, identity, and different perspectives is not “indoctrination” , it's education. School is one of the only places where we are exposed to people who are different from us, and understanding those differences helps us become more informed, respectful, and prepared adults. This bill uses very broad and unclear language like “LGBTQ+ ideology,” “identity-based ideologies,” and “division,” which could make teachers afraid to discuss real history, civil rights, or even students’ lived experiences. When laws are this vague, the result isn’t neutrality, it's silence, confusion, and fear in classrooms. The bill also creates a system where schools and teachers could be sued, which shifts the focus away from learning and toward legal risk. Instead of helping students succeed in math, science, reading, and critical thinking, schools may feel pressured to avoid any topic that could possibly be controversial. That hurts students. We need classrooms where we can ask hard questions, think critically, and learn how our country has grown, including both its achievements and its mistakes. As a student, I don’t feel harmed by learning about racism, inequality, or LGBTQ+ people existing in society. Those are realities of the world we live in. What would harm students is pretending those topics don’t exist or making certain groups of students feel like their identities cannot even be mentioned in school. Education should prepare us for the real world, not a filtered version of it. I respectfully ask you to consider how this bill would actually affect students’ daily learning environments. Please vote against HB 1792-FN. Thank you for your time.

Feb 2, 2026Students have a right to learn history with all its warts.and glories. That means confronting some ugly things this nation has done, but it also means celebrating the many ways we have worked to ameliorate racism, bigotry against religious or ethnic groups, hatred targeting people whose sexuality differs from their own. Recognizing tht certain groups have faced injustice is the only way we as a nation can honor ALL of our citizens. Critical race theory means different things to different groups, but I am filled with pride when I think of the work my fifth graders did researching civil rights issues. Far from feeling shame or guilt, my students felt.that they could and would be allies for underdogs in society. They learned about some horrible injustices, but they also learned about true American heroes who fought for us all to.love this land, and care for each other.

Feb 2, 2026Please oppose this bill! By explicitly targeting LGBTQ+ topics, HB 1792 signals to LGBTQ+ students that who they are is inherently controversial or wrong, rather than simply part of the diverse reality of our communities. Schools already struggle with bullying, depression, and suicide risk among LGBTQ+ youth; removing affirming, factual discussion of sexual orientation and gender identity will make schools less safe, not more. Age-appropriate education that acknowledges LGBTQ+ people helps students feel seen and allows teachers and counselors to respond effectively when a child is being harassed or is in crisis. HB 1792 creates a private right of action, allowing individuals to sue if they believe a teacher or district has violated the law. That invites litigation over classroom conversations, reading assignments, or even one-off comments, forcing districts to spend scarce resources on lawyers and insurance instead of teachers, counselors, and supports for students. The threat of lawsuits will encourage overly cautious “self-censorship” that harms educational quality across the board.

Feb 2, 2026I strongly oppose Bill 1792. The wording in this bill is pious and hypocritical to our country's historical truth creating cognitive dissonance. You cannot change the truth or the past because you don't like it. You have to learn from the past to grow . You heal a society by remembering past historical generations and learning from the good and bad aspects that occur so you don't keep repeating the the harm governments has done to society. We are a whole nation made of many people.

Feb 2, 2026Honorable Committee Members, Please support this common sense legislation. Education used to be about reading, writing, and arithmetic, but because of a huge swing to the left within the beliefs of the educational community, many schools have become indoctrination centers. Feb 2, 2026Critical race theory is incredibly real and important. I support our schools teaching it, as even more important in our small mostly white state to have other perspectives and input. Feb 2, 2026I am against this bill for many reasons, including the following: 1. It is unnecessary fearmongering. Nobody is trying to indoctrinate our children with some hypothetical leftist Marxist ideology. 2. We have a severe teaching shortage as it is. Threatening teachers with personal fines and revocation of license because some parent got offended is not going to help this situation. 3. There are many, many things that the legislature should be doing to improve education in New Hampshire that would be far more useful than this, namely properly funding education at the state level. Saying that schools should be funded locally and then trying to force useless legislation like this on local districts is complete hypocrisy. Please vote against this bill.

Feb 2, 2026Education is essential to give citizens a voice about their fundamental rights and CHOICE for self-autonomy, including gender and sexual preference. No matter the age of citizens. Feb 2, 2026The fact that this bill is sponsored by Kristin Noble, who wants to to segregate our schools immediately gives me a reason to believe this bill is damaging to our children. This bill sows division and is an attempt to take the voice of anyone who does not have her extreme right wing ideologies. Our education system should allow students to be able to look at both sides of an argument and make decisions that they feel are best for themselves and their society. This bill aims to keep information that is not strictly right wing from students. Extreme ideology does not belong in schools, but if you want to block left wing ideology, you need to block right wing as well.
